NEW DELHI: The outer windshield pane of a SpiceJet turboprop flying from Kandla to Mumbai on Tuesday cracked when the plane was cruising at 23,000 feet. It landed safely in Mumbai.
This was the second snag the airline faced on Tuesday as one of its Boeing 737 MAX is currently grounded in Karachi since morning after a technical glitch.

“The Q400 (VT-SUV) was operating as SG 3324 when during cruise at 23,000 feet the co-pilot side windshield outerpane cracked. Associated checklist actions were carried out. Pressurisation was observed to be normal. Priority landing was carried out and aircraft landed safely at Mumbai,” said a senior official.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered a probe into this.
Earlier today, a SpiceJet Boeing 737 MAX en route from Delhi to Dubai had to be diverted to Karachi after a fuel system snag.
The airlines has sent a replacement aircraft from Mumbai to fly the stranded passengers in Karachi to Dubai.
These are the latest in a series of snags the budget carrier’s flights have been witnessing in recent weeks.
