Byju’s News: Byju’s delays payments to Aakash: Report | India Business News – Times of India

BENGALURU: Byju‘s is said to have pushed back payments to Aakash Educational Services (AESL) that it acquired last year for nearly $1 billion.
Online media platform The Morning Context reported on Tuesday that payments have been delayed till August. Byju’s had acquired Aakash to bolster its offline presence with tuition centres.
When TOI contacted Byju’s for a comment, the spokesperson said, “Aakash is our most successful acquisition till date, and we are very proud to have them in our fold. The acquisition process of Aakash is fully on track and all payments are expected to be completed by the agreed upon date (August 2022).”
Aakash’s original promoters JC Chaudhry and Aakash Chaudhry were not immediately available for comment on the contradictory statements.
