Amazon executive to head user tech at Kotak – Times of India

MUMBAI: Kotak Mahindra Bank has appointed Amazon veteran Bhavnish Lathia as chief of customer experience. In addition to this role, he will also oversee the technology of the consumer bank. Lathia has over 40 patents in e-commerce, web services, distributed computing and machine learning domain. He is expected to transform the customer experience in the bank in line with new age tech firms.
“At Kotak, we expect Nish (Bhavnish Lathia) to lead a mission to transform and create cutting edge customer experiences by leveraging technology solutions straddling all customer touchpoints of the bank,” said Kotak Mahindra Bank group president (consumer banking) Virat Diwanji.
Lathia has an MS in computer Science from the University of Louisiana, and an MBA from California State University. “I look forward to working with my colleagues to innovate and introduce new initiatives to make the customer experience a strategic differentiator for the bank,” said Lathia.
Lathia has spent 18 years at Amazon across all business functions like product management, e-commerce, marketing, engineering & analytics with a primary focus on enhancing customer experience. After Amazon, he moved to Valo Health, where he worked as their chief product officer responsible for engineering, machine learning, and product management.
